Power for Advanced VX mount -13.8v supply

Recommended Posts

I have an XM21 bench supply producing 13.8V. I'd like to use this to supply my Advanced VX mount and Astrozap heated dew shield.

The Mount says it takes 12v but I've heard it's better to supply slightly higher voltage to ensure a constant minimum of 12V. The only thing I'm worried about is whether 13.8v is too high.

Has anyone used the AVX mount with a 13.8v supply?

The supply voltage will probably be a bit less once it goes down my 10m dc lead, connector and 4 gang cigarette socket strip.

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers
