Big sime
Hi, got a chance of buying a 10" Skywatcher Dob, my question is, could i fit the telescope to the mount of my Celestron EQ 130 mount?
brantuk
Fraid not Sime The 10" is way too big for that mount - you'll need at very least an EQ6 and even then you'll get a lot of vibration and the least breeze will wreck most viewing. And that's not to mention problems of getting the thing balanced and moving on your mount. Best left as a dob imho. Hope that helps and welcome to SGL
damnut
Hi Big Sime,Good advice above, have you seen the size of the dob?? It is a huge leap from the 130, and should you purchase you will also be amazed at what the views are through that monster. If you can, go and see in person before committing your hard earned cash. It's a great scope and there are plenty of upgrades and modifications you can make to it, such as adding a wixey so that it becomes more of 'nudge to'. Good luck with your choice.
