Alnitak - Double

Forgot to say: nice one for constraining Alnitak and yet keeping something of the Flame. What exposure/filters did you use?

Hi Martin, thanks,

no filters, 60 x 30 sec exposures stacked in DSS. Canon 600D unmodded through ED80.  Was quite surprised to see second star, only pointed it at Alnitak to finish off at the end of the night, left settings as were. Main task was to find and photograph Rosette Neb for first time. About to post. Obviously not as good as many posted on here but I was quite pleased for first attempt. At least I can see what it is.

This is very cool - I've been meaning to stop my obsession with deep sky imaging and do some images of multiple star systems - your effort has really inspired me :-)
