My first go at astrohotography

My first proper go at some Wide field astro photography 30/01/15 after a few fails.
Also my first go at image processing using levels and curves

Equipment
Olympus E500 on fixed tripod. 16 - 45 mm lens

Software
Olympus viewer
DSS all saved to 16 bit Tiffs
Gimp 16 bit tiffs reduced to 8 bit tiffs Processed and save to JPG

Orion ISO 400, 18mm lens, 20 secs, f4, 10 lights, 5 darks, 7 bias

I do struggle with manual focus on af cameras. I use rule of 500. Might drop to 400 and take more lights next time ou see how it goes.

If you feel like a bit of DIY you might make yourself a Lord 'Y' mask to help with focusing. Could be useful.
