NUmber of counterweights needed?

Recommended Posts

my EQ6 has 2 counterweights and I want to put the following on it.

C9.25 with a Williams ZS71 piggy backed via the adm guidescope jobby.

CCD + Filterwheel + OAG + Reducer, Diagonal, illuminated eyepiece

The addons are inter changeable to which scope they go on.

Maybe add a celestron 9x50 illuminated ra finder.

I do intend to motorise both scope focusers and add an exteral focuser onto the 9.25

Im thinking 4 weights will be needed here?

Maybe 3 or you could go for the extended counterweight bar?  although I think the consensus is more weight on the shorter bar is preferred as there is less inertia for the poor old mount motors to contend with.  You may also have to consider any available space/clearance issues.
