ANYBODY USE AN FSQ W/REDUCER?

Crikey! Does that cover all configurations i.e. native/reduced/visual/ccd?

For comparison, I've just taken delivery of a Tak FSQ-85 with adapters to allow the scope to be used native/reduced/visual/ccd. The optional parts I had to purchase were the x0.73 reducer, CA-35 (2 variants) and the M72 Aux Extension. Maybe the FSQ-106 requires additional adapters?

In my case

FSQ-85 at F5 (native without reducer)

1.     CAA

2.     Auxiliary Extender

3.     CA35 TSA102

4.     M54-T2 Adapter (Wide T Mount)

5.     EFW2

 

FSQ-85EDX with reducer at F3.6

1.     CAA

2.     Focal Reducer

3.     CA35 SKY90

4.     M54-T2 Adapter

5.     7-10mm T –Space

6.     EFW2

In both cases you also need the T to M52 adapter to allow the M54 threaded EFW2 to connect to T thread.

In my case those parts allow me to use the reducer and the extender for visual, AP w/QSI CCD, and also DSLR AP.

In hindsight I'd likely have left off the extender and the DSLR capabilities, but at the time I wanted all my options opened. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Ah, yes - I forgot about the M54-T2 adapter (Wide T Mount). I have a non-Takahashi custom version with an extra 6mm back focus for use with the QSI690 WSG-8.
