Is it possible to fit a 1.25 star diagonal in a SW Equinox 120 ?

I am going to have a look at a used Equinox 120, and would like to give it a quick try.

The problem is that I only have a 1.25 star diagonal at the moment.

Can someone please confirm if it would fit without adapter (or anything that doesn't come with the scope as standard) ? Or would it only take a 2" version ?

All you need is a 2" to 1.25" adaptor. They are pretty common to have with a scope but just check with whoever you are buying it from that he has one

Yes is the short answer, as above  The equinox comes supplied with a 1.25" adapter ask the seller if they still have it

BigMak's post shows the best design 2" to 1.25" adapter as it uses a compression-band that clamps down the EP with even pressure. Lower-priced one's have a single screw to hold the EP. I'd council you to spend the extra money on the compression type. Less chance of them coming loose, too.
