M82/M81/NGC 3077 - 26-02-08 - Wide Field - Canon 350D

First image for a while - very busy with work at the moment.

Was going to do a high res of M81 with the Atik 16HR but the gusty wind was a bit of a problem.

Decided to use the 350D to give the autoguider an easier time.

130mm APO at F6 , Canon 350D at 800 ISO.

25 X 4mins.

On the original image it is possible to see HolmbergIX ( ugc 5336) which is a mag 14.5 galaxy , it seems to have come out a bit darker on the web. The position of this is just below M81.

Just an ST80 refractor - but I use a SXV M7 as the guide cam - 752 X 580 and very sensitive.

Excellent image John you have bagged four for the price of one I can see Holmberg IX on my monitor. Lovely detail picked up on both M81 and 82.
