sheldondave
Hi Craig,Welcome SGL. If your looking for some help with DSOs try this site www.deepskywatch.com and look at his Deep Sky guide & atlas sections, I found them quite uesful when looking for inspiration, and gives you an idea of what you may see in the eyepeice. Jim Steele
Hi Craig and welcome to SGL. I started with the dps1 10x50s give very crisp views especially from a dark site Good luck and clear skies
miguel87
Hi Craig, great scope, I have only just upgraded mine after 3 years plus of visual astronomy. I never saw colour through my 130p but plenty of dso's. At the moment m13, the dumbbell nebula and Andromeda are all great targets with that scope. I found a nice 10mm eyepiece (well actually a 20mm with a Barlow to keep the viewing lenses nice and big) was ideal for finding and star hopping. Hope you're enjoying the skies. craigfoot
Yeah think one of my problems has been thinking I always need high power! Think I'll spend time with the 25mm ep next time and I've gathered more knowledge on where and what to look for.Just need time, location and clear skies now!I think actually my scope isn't the 130p either, it has a 900mm focal length where I think the p is shorter. . think its just a straight forward
