one of the spider tube bolts that tension my secondary has just shattered does anyone know where i can get a spider that will suit a tube with a diameter of 270mm??? i've never seen a supplier in the UK that does them so my AP, or for that manner, any astronomy apart from with the mk1 eyeballs is off for the foreseeable future unless i can find a replacement

Looks simple enough, especially if you buy a cheapo Dremel clone (Aldi or Lidl usually has them for buttons).

Don't bother with brass...just get a mild steel bolt.

fortunately, my grandad was a horrendous hoarder so my mothers garage was home to a perfect fit bolt. just need to drill it and grind a slot. hopefully, the disaster will be averted...
