MESU MOUNT DRIFT ALIGN ROUTINE FOR REFLECTOR TELESCOPE

Preparation.

1.Perform an “Offset Init” to initialize the telescope.

2.In Sitech exe- config check “Freeze Declination Box” in mount settings

3.Whils still pointing at the Offset init star slew the star left and right with the hand pad and align the reticule eyepiece so the star slews along the line.

Correcting East-West Misalignment on a star on the WESTERN side of the Meridian.

1.Slew to a star near the Meridian and Celestial Equator and place it in the middle of one of the reticule lignes.

2.If the star drifts UP (South)---Tighten the WEST AZ Knob

3. If the star drifts DOWN (North)---Tighten the EAST Knob.

4. Once the star is stationary for 5 min go to next step.

Correcting North South Misalignment on a star on the WESTERN horizon

1.Slew to a star 30° in altitude in the west on or near the Celestial Equator

2.If the star drifts UP (South)---Loosen the Bottom altitude knob

3.If the star drifts DOWN (North)----Tighten the bottom Altitude knob.

4.Once the star is stationary on the reticule line Drift Alignment is complete.

5. Clear all Calstars and Terms in Point XP.

NB:

If you do not have a reflector ignore the "Up and "Down instructions" and follow the "North and South" instructions after checking the following:

When slewed to the alignment star lightly press the end of the telescope where the light goes in towards the north.

The star will move south.
