Observing Tonight

Well, it's starting to get darker again at night here, and now armed with a Telrad (albeit reduced in effectiveness by light pollution), I thought I'd observe. After a quick glance at the moon, which was dipping, had a glance round Cygnus with the bins, struck me as being darker than a few weeks ago. Looked at the ring Nebula, strangely nicest at low power, then to M13. Next found M29 & the double double in Lyra (resolved at x200) and Albireo, colour contrast obvious, though I feel I'd llke to see it through a refractor; thought I could detect a bit of shape round the nucleus of M31 in the bins, but I may have been tricking myself . Anyway, I'm sure the Telrad will prove still more useful when it gets darker/darker skies.
