Advice on purchasing a zoom 70-200mm f2.8 or prime 200mm f2.8 for dso with canon 60da lp filter.

Unsure which to go for, prime or zoom for the main dso that would be achievable to image using ioptron skyguider.

Prime lenses are usually recommended though I find the 70-200 F2.8 Pro lenses are also of very good quality.

I have both the Nikon 180mm F2.8 ED and the 80-200mm F2.8 ED zoom, IMO the 80-200 gives better stars than the prime lens!
