Bent Elevation adjustment screw for a Celestron C8N/CG5 Mount

Recommended Posts

Saw someone on another forum mentioning they had a bent elevation screw for their Celestron CG5 mount.

I had the same problem last week which i solved by straightening it between 2 pieces of wood which i hit with a hammer.

Does anyone have a source of a pair of stronger pair of screws as this seems to be a Synta problem.

While moving my mount around it changed from 55 degrees to 60 Degrees elevation, i would not of had to change it otherwise as i am on a wooden patio and it has different levels.

Davey.

Thanks oh Moon Plodger.

Looks like Deja-Vue.

I will give them a call as The stainless steel ones look stronger to take the counterweight strain on the mount.

At least that is a easy fix to get the mount up and runing 100%.

Thank you for the reply .
