Venus is looking great now at 10am - NOTE WARNING RE SUN

Venus

Its a lovely three quarter phase object at the moment...

It is almost exactly half way between the Sun and the Moon at a dec of 52degs its level with the height of the Sun a bit higher than the moon..

Of course you MUST BE CAREFULL NOT TO LOOK AT THE SUN...

But using a small scope you can find the lovely white "star" like object and then use higher power to see the phase...

DO NOT LEAVE THE SCOPE SET UP AND LEAVE IT AS THE SUN WILL EVENTUALLY LINE UP AND FRY YOUR SCOPE..

Once you find venus it is easty to see in any pair of binoculars.

AGAIN DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WITH BINOCULARS

Nice one.Solid great cloud here, so no hope of getting a view, but hopefully others will fare better
