I have had this for a while and have had some good views but have just noticed that the bottom unscrews and will screw onto my eyepiece, now my question is will this just be the same or will it not focus thank you.

It should still focus but with a reduced magnification.

There's every possibility it will focus, and give you a reduced multiplier for the magnification.

There is no other glass in the rest of the Barlow that`s what got me thinking.

I have quite a few barlows and they're all similar.  All the glass is near the end of the barrel.  I have occasionally wondered if some of the 3x barlows aren't just a 2x barlow modified to push the piece/camera further away from the lens(es).

Yes so in theory just putting the screw part on my eyepiece might only magnify say 1.5x
