Guidescope to off-axis

Was pondering whether to switch from using a guidescope to using off-axis. At the moment, my Baader MPCC is attached directly to my 1100D. Would putting an OAG inbetween (about 10mm thick) render the Baader useless?

The Baader is set to work at 55mm, that's the distance from the t-ring to the sensor on the dslr, move it out 10mm will alter the way it work, if it will work at all......
