Help with Barlow

Hello All

A couple of times now I have tried to use a Revelation x2.5 barlow with my ST80 and it seems I do not have enough inward travel to bring the subject into focus.

Is this common on some barlow/scope combo's or is there something else going on that I am missing?

Is there anything that can be done to provide more inward travel?

You could take the diagonal away and try again with the Barlow and eye piece straight in the focuser.

How far away is the subject, a bird or the moon?

Thanks, I will try that to see if it works although wouldn't be great for long term viewing.

My subject is moon, planets and solar.

I wonder if you could do barlow and then diagonal then eye piece? No idea what that would do though.

It might make things worse. If you increase the distance between the barlow and eyepiece you also increase the barlow's magnification.

Could it be the nature of this particular barlow, or will the problem persist wull all barlows?
