Rainbow Sun Dogs

I was looking out of the window this evening when I saw these - just had time to run in and get the camera - point and shoot luckily - and snapped both to the left and right sides of the evening Sun.  Very pretty - unfortunately they only lasted around two or three minutes before completely disappearing!  I couldn't see anything above or below the sun, just these two.

lots of them today, including a lovely arc over the top of the sun around 5ish

Had these driving home yesterday too. Rainbows on both sides of the sun. Lasted about 45 minutes.
