Focuser back? Is an upgrade possible?

I was having a good look at one of my scopes and noticed the focuser back could be removed. I'm think it possible to upgrade the back to 1.25 format. The focuser tube looks wider than the eyepieces used for are and I decided to measure , definitely bigger than the other scope I have that has a more narrow tube.

It might cost more to replace the focuser than the telescope is worth. If the telescope is a refractor it might be better to use a 0.965"/1.25" eyepiece adapter or a 0.965"/1.25" hybrid diagonal.

I'm not saying the entire focuser tube itself, the part that holds eyepieces in place actually screws off and on. It is literally one little part.
