Satellite I am sure, anyone seen this one.

I have seen this about 20 times though I am not counting. I am sure this is a statellite of some sort. It always comes from the same area of the sky and that is slightly east of south, it is about Mag -1.0 and heads northwards. It shows itself from horizon to about 15-20 dgrees above then disappears sometimes you see a flicker of it again after a second or so then it is gone for good. It seems to show around 45 mins after the sun has set at a time when I would expect to see it right across the sky, but this don't happen or I have never seen it.

Anyone seen similar?

I believe that weather satellites are in sun-synchronous orbits. Couldn't say which one you're seeing though.

I can clock about 10 to 20 of these each viewing evening. I use the 'Sputnik!' app to identify them.

Thank-you for that it is good to see it is not me seeing things, I always find it strange that they seem to go into Earth shadow so quickly, they don't seem to go dimmer like most they just vanish then you get this little flash afterwards.
