cutepetgroomer
How does one safely find Venus when it's easy to locate in the early dawn hours? Obviously I don't want to be looking at the sun without a solar filter on my scope.
brantuk
You'll need a clear Eastern horizon and catch it half an hour or so before the sun comes up. It's just below the head of pisces (directly beneath markab in the square of peg) at the moment and half way between neptune and uranus. It gets up to about 8 or 9 degrees before the sun starts to wipe it out. hth

Charic
The only real problem will be the extra depth of atmosphere you will be looking through, so the image quality may shimmer quite a bit?
cutepetgroomer
Well, I am working on my paper to go along with my chart I had to fill out Saturday night. Apparently Venus was one of the items but since I had to go home so early, I'm allowed to omit it from my paper. I must say that I rather enjoyed the camping trip over all.
