The Abel planetary nebulae have VERY low surface brightness, as a rule, hence the rarity of images. I have yet to discern one visually through my scope, and I am no slouch when it comes to picking out seriously faint stuff, Maybe this summer I might catch one using Olly's 20" "Sir Isaac".

i live in very dark place in ireland but only 8'' scope

I was asking just cos they way they presented the picture i thought its something that happend recently
