April 11, 2014: Brief session with detached prom

Recommended Posts

Just had a quick look at the sun with the LS35, and a series of smaller proms can be seen on eastern and western limb, with a larger "wall" looking a bit like frizzy hair on the north-western limb. Several sunspots could be seen, one close to the "wall" with a big dark whorl around it. On the north-eastern limb one smaller prom points straight to a little detached prom at quite a distance from the limb. 20x mag in the 20mm EP showed it best.  May have another session at lunchtime
