Thanks to links in the explanation of NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day(http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140405.html) I found a website that allows you to explore the far side of the Moon for yourself by zoom in & out, here's the link: http://wms.lroc.asu.edu/lroc_browse/view/WAC_GL180

That looks good, I don't think I've ever seen any pictures from the dark side before. Interestingly, looking at the pictures you know it's the moon but it looks "wrong" because you are not seeing the normally recognisable features.
