Worth the money?

Can anyone say if it is actually worth the extra money for a nexstar se model over the nexstar slt? Why do they cost so much more?

It's simply a better, more heavy duty mount. And, if there is one thing that I have learned on the equipment side of things, it is that any telescope is only as good as its mount.

If you can afford it, then go for the SE.

I have the 6SE and the mount is solid...

I also like the Celestron GOTO set up, easier than Skywatcher as you choose whatever stars you like.

Interesting comment. I use the skywatcher system and you can choose which stars you like.

I use a Dobsonian mount and I can also chose whichever stars I like, just takes a bit longer to find them
