Baader Safety-Cool Solar Wedge

Recommended Posts

A new Baader Solar wedge will be here in a couple of more days.It has the ND 3 and a Solar Continuum filter installed.Do most use an additional filter to observe(Polarizer)?Or is the provided Continuum enough? Also Baader has neutral density filters to replace the Continuum(to work in conjunction with ND 3),anyone do this?I will be using this with my 90mm triplet refractor at F7

I'm so sorry, Gerry. I've just spotted this and under the circumstance should have replied. Probably a bit late now buut I hope you're having a great time with the new wedge. Great things for white light

I actually tend to use what was called the 'top polarizing filter' more than the continuum. This is a polarising filter which you rotate in order to get the optimum brightness. Personally I prefer this for everything but the faculae which I think the Continuum brings out better.

Cheers,
