So you ought to be Ian. There is quite a bit of detail coming out of that one, and it's so clean too.

You have to keep going until mars gets too far out, because you get better with every attempt now.

That is nice and crisp. Have you tried identifying any of the features? There's that odd dark blob that looks like a martian Mare Crisium. Intriguing.

I was going by the Sky & Telescope Mars tool.

I wan't expecting to pick up craters using my camera just abledo features.

I'll dig out my Mars atlas and work out the longditude of the object based on the time of the photo.
