first lunar mosaic almost by accident

viewing wasn't great tonight but had the telescope out early playing about with a daytime moon and getting used to the camera settings
around 6:30pm I shot a load of burst shots of 5 - 10 images per shot to try to reduce camera shake
and I captured a lot of raw images at different ISO and shutter speeds to see what worked best without software in the way on the Canon camera

I chose 3 reasonable shots from the batch covering the  top, middle & bottom of the visible disk and imported the images into photoshop CS6

to practice my editing skills, as its been a while since I used photoshop for anything more than framing and tweaking an image

some masking to separate the moon from the background and some minor tweaking of the histogram's  created a nice batch of 3 PNG's

for a laugh I decided to try Microsoft ICE to see what happened as I've been messing about with it with 30+ frames to see what happened
expecting a mess I got this

three PNG's used and ICE edit to finish
totally blown away as this was a shake down in windy conditions to test equipment & settings

top first (large files)
