Absolutely TV plossls' are excellent, you will not find sharper earpieces and the build quality is superb. BST are great eyepieces and will give you a wider field of view, their not TeleVue's however. Second hand they can be picked up for the same price as a BST and would last a lifetime.

also unlike the Hyperions, the TV plossl's will perform in any faster scopes you may own in the future

Just the visual quality ALONE,would there be a major difference between the tv plossl and the bst?

I think often differences are subtle and it takes an experienced eye to pick up on them. I'd imagine the tv will be sharper toward the edges , but there would be smaller differences towards the centre.

But a bst is 60* and plossl is 50* so take that into consideration. I think the tv eyepieces come into their own when using them in fast scopes , they are reportedly as sharp even at around f/4 .

As I say a more experienced observer will see more differences than someone like me. , who finds very little difference from one decent eyepiece to another .
