That big orange ball surrounded by blue...

Thought I'd point the solar scope at and see what it was. 

The wind had died down quite a bit, but it was still a little windy and way too cold for jeans and T shirt.

But it was good to be out again. lately it's been so long between sessions I seem to say that every time I get out with the scope.

This one was a 5 pane mosaic for the disc and a 6 pane mosaic for the proms. DMK21 and PST - captured in ICcapture, stacked in Registax5. Aligned in Imerge and final processing in PS CS5. 

These images are the same as the image above but include a 2.5 Powermate. Various Proms that caught my eye as I scanned around the edge.

There are three lovely detailed areas on the disc, hopefully I've done it justice.

Had a fun day today. I look forward to May when I get another chance.

nicely done AJE. I was so looking forward to getting my first look through the scope in a long time too, but life is conspiring against me at the moment.
