Hot scope missed Jupiter!

I was out last night and the seeing looked fairly good, the wind had died down but my scope was boiling over like an alka-seltser - so I went in doors for half an hour to talk to the wife to let it cool, by the time I came back out the clouds had rolled over Jupiter!

Damn, what a waste!

I plan to store it in the shed, but I have to get the rather large storage box I have adapted back from work.

Better luck tonight Dan - should be less windy and and clear for good while.   I had nothing but cloud last night.

Must keep the scope in a cool place - a shame to loose a good "seeing" opportunity!

I store my scope in an unheated garage. Helps a lot

Mines going in a unheated shed that is used to store the feed for the Chickens!

Mind you get a good water-tight case, and chuck in any silica-gel sack you can find to keep moisture out. Mould can ruin coatings!

Seen a desiccant cap from Billet parts I might get
