CPC 925 and ASI120MC best setup

Recommended Posts

Howdy ( again) all :-)

Just after some opinion in terms of setting up my scope and camera for the best results I can get with my kit. I've three options really....

1) Camera with nosepiece sat in star diagonal as per normal eyepiece config.

2) camera with nosepiece sat straight into Visual back.

3) camera attached to SCT T adaptor on Visual back.

Can anyone tell me if there see pros/ cons to these approaches, or if I've missed any other options?

Many thanks as always :-)

Doesn´t the camera come with a 1,25" nose piece adapter? If so... just pull out the 1,25" diagonal and plop in the camera via the 1,25" nose piece adapter in the Visual back. :)

As you going to do planetary imaging, you might want to use a 2x barlow (or higher). :)

In that case you plop the barlow (1,25") into the Visual back and then the camera into the barlow.
