HEQ 5 Storage Bag / Case

Recommended Posts

Ladies and Gents,

I'm after some advice / opinions. After regularly lugging my Skywatcher HEQ5 and 200PDS between Yorkshire and Cornwall, I'm in need of a carry case to make sure I don't leave any of the bits in the wrong location!

I've had a look at the various options that present:

Geoptik Bag - https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p170_Geoptik-Quilt-Bag-for-mounts-like-EQ5---GM8---GP.html

Maplin Flight Case - http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/large-high-impact-case-with-pre-cut-foam-interior-n14gr

Custom Flight Case - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium-Flight-Case-Large-Universal-DJ-Equipment-Camera-570x380x190mm-/231118527156?pt=UK_Vinyl_CD_DJ_Bags_Cases&hash=item35cfbcdab4

I've seen a few people rave about the Geoptik bag but haven't been able to find any pictures of the internal layout of the bag to see what it can hold - does anyone have the bag?

What do owners of the HEQ5 use to lug their kit around?

Thanks,

Jon

I've got a an AZEQ6, i'm am lugging it around less and less these days as my back is the limiting factor; it's set up permanently in the garden :)

I carry the tripod legs in an ex army version of one of these off ebay (i got for about £8):

And i carry the miunt head and weights and spreader plate around in a second hand one of these i got from a charity shop for £2 and wrap the mount head up inside it in a massive old duvet:
