Antares 1.6 x barlow

Hi chaps , does anyone know if this is the same as the well respected older version of this Barlow?

Its in stock and appears to be the same apart from it has a twist lock adaptor...

I'd say it  probably is the same but with the addition of the twistlock. I can't imagine it being worse than older version.

I've owned both the older version and the new one. They are optically just the same - ie: very good !

I did have a problem with the newer one in that, in adding the twist lock system and threading the barrel to accept 2" filters, they have moved the optical elements up the tube a bit so the new version requires even more inwards focuser travel to bring an eyepiece to focus. Unfortunately this meant that I could not get a number of my eyepieces to focus with my scopes.

If you have lots of inwards focuser travel available then this should not be a problem.
