Another "what did I see".

Yesterday afternoon about 2.30 very high in the west a really bright stationary silver white light for about 5 seconds then it went out. There was nothing visible where it had been . There was very high cloud cover with gaps, but nothing there.

I worked outdoors for 40 years and have seen many odd things but this one left me puzzled,

I live a few miles from an RAF pilot trainer airfield, quite often during the late afternoon, these small trainer planes switch on very powerful searchlights. Could have been one coming towards you

The sun reflecting off something maybe, helicopter, microlight? who knows
