I didn't expected a fabulous results, but it's not bad in my opinion. Captured this week with moon 50% first nigt and nearly 80% yesterdey.

Apparently calibrations frames dosen't work properly so I have some black dots on image.

7hrs ( 10 mion subs ) with WO FLT 98 and modiefied Canon 1000d, iso 800, Astronomik halpha 12nm.

Very good. Have you tried stacking them in IRIS?

Images from my monochrome-modifief canon 1000D wouldn't stack in DSS but they did in IRIS. The procedure to stack them is not straightforward, though. Thanks Luis for guiding me through that.

How about now spending a couple of hours on this target with your 1000D without the H-a filter and add the colour to the final composition as you did with the California nebula? I bet the result would be pretty good.
