I'd forgotten how slow F10 is!!

I decided to try a close up o NGC891 with the C8 at native f10.  Boy is it slow compared with the refractor at f4.9!!  I could be here all night    (well until Jupiter appears and then.....  )

I guess this is why SCTs / Maks aren't used at their native focal length for DS AP .

...and its even slower when you manage to accidentally turn the dewstrap right down and end up with a corrector dewed on inside and outside!!!     I don't think my morning after flats are going to be enough to undo the damage   Not my most successful night 

Jupiter therefore had to be imaged with the frac instead.   This did at least cheer me up a bit!
