Comet 2013/R1 Lovejoy on 22nd November

Recommended Posts

Taken at the prime focus of my Celestron EdgeHD 925 scope. 30 second exposure at ISO 1600. 30 seconds seems to be about the maximum exposure before the movement of the comet against the background starts to show up. Autoguiding against the comet nucleus would be needed for longer exposures I think (which I wasn't set up for this morning). I took about 55 exposures but simple stacking in DSS simply causes the comet to trail on the stacked image.
