Mounting a Canon EF500 and Autoguider on a NEQ6

I would like to go with a wider FOV and try my Canon EF500 F4 IS lens in lieu of the MN190 on the NEQ6.

I've seen a few cheap dovetails on ebay that will allow the EF500 to be mounted to the NEQ6, but how would I mount the autoguider.

I've been using an OAG on the MN190 and have a SW finder that I could call into duty, but it seems the only way I can use the finder is to go dual saddle and get another dovetail and a set of rings for the finder...rather expensive option. An alternative migh be to get a long dovetail bar for the EF500 and drill/mount the finder below the lens.

Has anyone else tried such a dual set up?

I would guide with the MN190 and mount the EF 500 with guidescope rings.

You will probably need rings with different sizes for the lens.

Wont that be too heavy for imaging on a NEQ6?, the MN190 is 12kg and the EF500 is 4.5kg, add in a dSLR and guide camera etc and its pushing 18kg.

I'm pretty sure the MN190 weighs 10kg.

It might sound heavy, but it should be ok i you balance well :)

A long dovetailbar like you suggested would be a good solution too and much easier on your mount...probably cheaper too
