Not bad Mike :)

OK, in Win7, right-click My Computer, select Properties, then Device Manager.

You want the 'Ports' section. You should see a device corresponding to the EQDIR module you are using.

Right click that, Properties, then select the Port Settings tab, then click the Advanced button.

That will tell you what COM port your module is using. Then set the EQRUN to use that

EQMOD needs a hardware module between the PC and the mount - this module translates the PC signals into Mount signals...

There are various devices about - HiTec Astro, Shoestring, or a modified USB-Serial.

EQASCOM talks to this module via the COM port assigned to it - either an RS232 serial port, or a virtualised USB port. Either way, it would show in the 'Ports' section once plugged in.

I'vo no experience if it's a Bluetooth module, but I would assume it's pretty much the same.

You need to tell EQASCOM which port to use. There is a EQASCOM Toolkit which you can run to set the COM port and test the connection.

When you see EQASCOM flash, disappear, flash, disappear - this means it can't 'see' the device on the assigned COM port...
