Hi Steve..

Did you use your Esprit120 to see Neptune?

I ask because that is the scope I have.  And perhaps I might be able to do the same.

Also - how can you be sure that is Neptune.  And not just another star?

Just wondering..

Wow thats cool!

I'm desperate to do some spectroscopy soon, may I ask what grating you use? I was looking at the Star Analyser 100.

Also, is that Triton to the (apparent) left of Neptune? A quick look on Stellarium makes me think it is.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan

I did wonder that myself and was going to check later,I`ve no idea what mag Triton would be, there is a small star near Neptune from the UCAC4 catalogue so I`d have to rule that out first!. I use the Star Analyser also, its an excellent introduction into the spectro world

Cheers

Steve
