new/old mount type?

hi all

i recently brought a bresser skylux 700/70 and mount/tripod for £25

could anybody tell me exactly what type of mount/tripod it is and does anybody have any experience stripping one down to re-grease and tune up?

i have never used an eq mount so cannot tell what it is supposed to be like but it is fairly stiff to turn on each axis with all the knobs loosened that lock it into place.

example when i try to balance the scope dosent move no matter where the weight is positioned!!

I think the mount is called an Astro 3. Somewhere between a Skywatcher EQ2 & EQ3-2.

Yes, it's an astro 3 and will cary quite some load, great for a 4" Mak but IMHO a 5"f/5 newton is the limit.
