They are good scopes but it's at least 13 years old and upto around 22 years old.

They are the Meade LX200 Classic. There are no parts available from Meade now for these although used parts are obtainable but you may need to search/purchase from the US to get them if ever needed.

The coatings on the corrector are EMC not the newer UHTC coatings although visually you won't tell the difference, just check the coatings are a nice rich blue colour and the primary is in good condition also. The handcontroller is large and the 18v power supply can sometimes blow the capacitors inside it, this is a common fault. These can be replaced easily and if you do go for it it's wise to upgrade the capacitors. They can also run on 12v although the slew speeds aren't as fast on 12v.

64,000 object database in the handcontroller which is plenty. Goto's are quite accurate if set-up/levelling of the tripod and getting as close as possible centering the alignment stars etc are done accurately (or as best you can) on the inital set-up. The alignment stars are selected manually via the handcontroller so you'll need to know which are the main stars around the evenings you'll be setting up.

Co-ordinates need entering on initial set-up only and are then stored within the handcontrollers memory. Time & date need entering each time you set-up as these are not stored. There is no GPS but this isn't a problem, set-up (1 or 2 star alignment) is usually as quick as a GPS scope or even quicker as no linking to the satellites is required.

The scope is HEAVY but if your reasonably fit it's quite easy to set-up.

They are pretty robust scopes and there's still lots & lots running very well throughout the UK. If it's been looked after there's no reason it won't last a number of years without loosing too much value.

Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention your focuser should fit directly on the rear cell also providing your focuser has the standard 2" SCT adapter.
