After all the helpful advise a few months back i thought i should post that i finally found the deal i was looking for...

If anyone has other suggestions in what i may need do let me know. I am planning on doing a little photography to catalogue my findings. Ideally i would have had a better mount but i couldn't wait any longer, and this seems near perfect :-)

Congratulations 

As long as it's been well looked after I reckon you got a great deal - less than half the price of buying new!

If you are thinking of using your scope for photography then buying a copy of Making Every Photon Count from FLO is definitely recommended.

Yeah i know the weathers rubbish but it gives me a while to learn a bit more about what I'm doing.

I thought it was a good deal. I've not seen that scope go for less than 300 second hand and the 80mm refractors are always in demand. That was the model i really wanted too
