Skytracker vs astrotrac?

So you could use a ballhead between the tripod and the polarie without any issues?

I don't at all.

It could be useful but you don't need to, I have been using a decent 3 way pan and now that has blown up a cheap one.

Well thanks for all the replies, I have gone for the ioptron skytracker in the end. I received it yesterday so if the sky stays clear I will try it tonight :) I felt the astrotrac was too much mount for my requirement and didn't like the fact that the polarie doesn't include a polarscope and that you put the polarscope in the same place as the camera. I would have thought you could easily mess your alignment up when changing the polarscope and camera.
