MikeD
A late start for me last night. I went out at 11pm and decided to change the imaging setup to imaging with the 80Ed and guiding with the 10" newt.I also decided to try and see if I could reach focus with my Atik 0.5 focal reducer in line, managed to get focus but the spacing was wrong ( pants stars at the edge of frame)Anyway I thought what the hell and had a bash at M42 with the setup as was.M42 in ha 8 @ 5 Min's & 5 @ 1 min from last night with a prime focus 80ED LRGB image from last year ( converted to mono) to add some contrast to the core.(click to enlarge)I have now reduced the disstance between the FR and CCD and will try again next clear night.Mike.P.s focus is out a tad too. MartinB
Focus doesn't look bad Mike. Beautiful swirls of nebulosity. You also seem to be the master of interesting stars
barkis
That's just a great sight Mike. And I want my focusing to be that far out too. Ron.
