Whoops. Have I damaged my camera?

Hi all.

Just went out to the obs and realised that I have left my SXVF-H9 camera plugged in since I last used it a few days ago.

Is it likely to have been damaged by being on for so long?

Maybe but unless it was taking pictures the entire time or the sensor was exposed to direct sunlight I wouldn't think it would hurt it. But could be wrong as I'm sure i dont know nearly enough about camera components to be 100% sure.

I have done the same thing, Luke and I rang SX for guidance. They confirmed that the worst that would happen would be icing but that that would disperse. I suspect that all will be well just as it was for me, I had forgotten about it until now!

Hmm I think the biggest shock to electrical components is the powering on & off. So, I'd be surprised if leaving it on did more damage.

Phew. Sounds like I might be ok then. I'll give it a quick test on Nova Delphini 2013 shortly.
