USB Port Utilisation Software

Hi

There has been a lot of discussion about USB ports and the amount of data being pushed through etc, is there any way to actually monitor the USB ports to see the actual utilisation when imaging ?

Hi John,

There are many USB traffic monitor programs available, most are used by developers and are not free but some are free to try for a limited period, try a Google search using "USB speed monitor free software" and you will find a hundred or more links to follow up. Be aware that some USB "sniffer" programs can slow the port speed down just by the act of monitoring.

Not helpful for speed monitoring, but a great capture and debugging tool USBPCap with Wireshark.

Windows Performance Monitor also has a whole bunch of USB counters including %bandwidth, selectable on a controller or host basis. At least on Windows 7 that is.
