Maxim control of Atik EFW2 - is this possible?

At the moment I fire up Atik Artemis to control the EFW2 so that I get the desired filter in place, then I close down and switch over to Maxim to (try) get Focusmax to do it's business. I was just wondering if it's possible to get Maxim to take control directly of the Atik EFW2? Has anybody done this, and if so, how do you do it.

Hi Martin,

The Atik EFW2 is ASCOM compliant, it has an ASCOM driver that MAXIM can use to control the filter wheel.

First download and install the software, ASCOM platform, version 6, SP2 here is the link:

Then load the Atik ASCOM driver that came with the wheel, here is the link to the instruction how to install and configure the Atik driver (at the bottom of the page).

Once both the ASCOM platform and the driver are loaded you can control the wheel directly from MAXIM.

I too use the EFW2 with MaxIm DL and it works a treat with the ASCOM driver - a seamless install in my case.
